Barefoot hiker discovered useless in Arizona after posting Instagram picture on cliff
A hiker was found dead and without shoes in the city of Sedona, Arizona after crowding in front of his fellow hikers and sliding off a steep ledge.
Jordan Brashears was reported missing on the night of October 8 by two people he met while on a hike, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office said. The 29-year-old met both men the day before and went on a hike with them the next day on the Boynton Canyon Trail near the Enchantment Resort.
The area is known for archaeological sites and a “vortex of force,” according to Mercury News.
His companions said he had gone forward, but when they went on they did not come across their comrade. They searched for about an hour and then finally called 911.
First responders found Brashear’s water jug and discovered his body a short time after 9 a.m. local time last Friday.
According to the sheriff’s report, the evidence suggests the fall was more of an accident than a willful act or foul play.
Brashear’s Explorasaurus Rex Instagram account features photos from his travels in California and Arizona this month.
The last one on Wednesday of last week shows him on a ledge of Sedona’s Cathedral Rock.
