This year, the city is celebrating its 4th annual Red Dirt Concert Series in the park, an event that is growing in popularity and kicking off all of the great summer months Sedona is known for.

The music starts at 5:30 p.m. with support act Devin Angelet, a popular pianist and singer known for her language skills and an abundance of music from all genres and decades who is the first to come on stage.

The main act, starting around 6 p.m., will be Green Light, an original classic rock band known for their catchy melodies, extended jam songs, three- and four-part harmonies, and musical virtuosity.

The band itself is made up of a list of musicians known across northern Arizona for their professionalism and talent.

For this event, Green Light will play Chicky Brooklyn on rhythm guitar and vocals; Tommy Acosta on bass and vocals; JR Robusto a lead guitar and vocals; Eric Williams on saxophone, keyboards and vocals; and Dan Turner on drums.

Steve Richardson, Sedona Parks and Recreation Manager, said physical distance will be maintained and participation will be limited to no more than 120 people.

City staff and park rangers will oversee the event. There will be a separate entrance to the Posse Grounds Pavilion and a separate exit to limit contact. Participants are also asked to wear masks for themselves and other masks.

Hand sanitizer will also be available. People are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to the concert.

Otherwise it’s good music and great times on the Posse Grounds and everyone is thrilled.

“This is a great opportunity to see a good band, have fun, and stay safe at the same time,” said Richardson.

The band have been waiting for an opportunity to play again and now that coronavirus restrictions have been eased, they are ready to step onto that stage and delight their fans again.

“As a longtime fan of Green Light because it’s great fun to see and the best part is that all the members are there, I look forward to seeing them perform at the Red Dirt Concert at the Posse Grounds on June 12th see Park Pavilion, ”said longtime Sedona local Scott Jablow.
